We celebrated Dr. Ámbédkar’s 131st birthday in Miskolc, at the Dr. Ámbédkar Technical School. The event was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of India, Mr. S. Ramji, and several of his colleagues. The student choir of Dr. Ambedkar Technical College, Miskolc sang the national anthem of India in Bengali. The event was an occasion for Indians living in Europe to make a pilgrimage to the only statue of Dr. Ambedkar on the continent. The Cultural Institute of the Embassy of India dazzled the students with a rousing performance of tabla music and kathak dance. Dr. Anna Aklan, Indology Art Historian at the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest, gave a scholarly lecture on the millennia of Indian culture.
